We drove around Cape Town through all these beautiful bays and towns.Seapoint. Clifton. Camps Bay.
Then on to the Chapman’s Peak Drive. This might be even prettier than the Pacific Highway in California.
All on the way to this nice town called Hout Bay, where we will be having a late lunch. Seafood, of course!

You know this must be a good place if the foreigner in the group remarks: Every single time I have been to South Africa, I have eaten here!
And yes, the view, the food and the service was amazing. We will be back again next time!

We took a very nice bottle of wine and drove up the mountain to the pumping station to watch the sun set over False Bay.
In the distance you can see the top of Table Mountain above some low clouds. To the right you can see three towns as well as some of the winelands.
It is an inceredible, and incredibly romantic, sunset experience.

Early morning and we are off on our trip to go do some whale watching.
It was a really beautiful drive.
Our first stop was the African Penguin Sanctuary in Betty’s Bay. These used to be known as Jackass Penguins because of the sound they make.
These are an endangered species, and the only penguins found on the mainland of Africa.

We went to the lookout point in Hermanus looking for whales.
Saw a Dassie.
And Dassies (Rock Hyrax) always look so unimpressed. Probably because the only living relatives they have are elephants!

We went up to this bar with a great view of the bay. Maybe some Irish Coffees will help with the search.
It did!
