{"id":2470,"date":"2024-07-25T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/2024-paris\/getting-baked\/"},"modified":"2024-07-25T11:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T11:00:00","slug":"getting-baked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/2024-paris\/getting-baked\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting baked"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the games have not officially started yet, our morning excursion was an \u2018interactive bakery experience\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We not only made by hand breads and baguettes as well as pastries, we also learned a lot of interesting and sometimes surprising facts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Random facts like: all the bakeries\u2019 profits are from sandwiches and pastries. It takes four days to make a baguette, and they sell them for around one euro each. (This specific bakery makes about 1,000 baguettes every day by hand.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More fun facts about croissants. Did you know that a curved croissanteans it is made with margarine, and a straight one with butter? During war times there was no butter available so they used margarine.
