Time to explore the more than 3000 \u2018streets\u2019 and 150 canals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were very excited to hear more from a local &#8211; she was born in Venice! &#8211; and have small samples of food as we go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Little did we know that in Venice the idea of \u2018small sample\u2019 does not exist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1052-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1052\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1053-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1053\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At our first stop, Rizzo, we were going to \u2018sample\u2019 a unique Venetian version of Pizza with mortadella, buffalo cheese and pesto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She came out with this giant slice piled about two inches high. Great, we are going to share that and we will be stuffed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nope. We EACH got a slice that big!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What a start to a tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1054-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1054\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1055-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1055\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Osteria Why Not Bistro we got a great Prosecco &#8211; it is never too early! &#8211; and two cicchetti. One was polenta with pickled onions-and-shrimp, and the other is some kind of meatball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1056-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1056\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">One of only two bridges in the city with no railings.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1057-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1057\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are about 178 churches here, and this is the one where Jeff Bezos decided to get married. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1058-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1058\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A rowing school for all ages!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1059-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1059\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The gates of the Jewish Sector were locked every night.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1060-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1060\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1061-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1061\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cantina Azienda Agricole delivered spectacularly with a risotto with fresh artichoke and smoked ricotta. Delightfully paired with a crisp white wine from the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1062-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1062\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1063-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1063\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A La Vecia Papussa\u2019s surprise was a Spritz made with \u2018Special\u2019 which has a taste somewhere between Campari and Aperol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1064-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1064\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For our nibbly bits they deliver eight cachetti! Eight! <br>By now we were all so stuffed that the other two people barely ate any of it. <br>We are not quitters and we finished everything, including their portions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our selection consisted of the following toppings: Cream of cod, Lard,  Salami, Gorgonzola, Pumpkin&amp;onion, Grilled vegetables, Tomato\/cheese and Salmon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1065-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1065\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flag of Venice with the six stripes representing the six sistieri (neighborhoods?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1066-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1066\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1067-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1067\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1068-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1068\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our final stop mere seconds from an imminent food explosion was at one of the oldest bakeries in Venice to try their speciality: Tiramisu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1069-just-a-tiny-wafer.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1069\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Are you going to eat that?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Final thought: We have a food tour in every city of this trip.
