{"id":3405,"date":"2026-03-05T02:33:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/2026-pieter60\/glad-i-ate-here\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T02:33:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T07:33:00","slug":"glad-i-ate-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/2026-pieter60\/glad-i-ate-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Glad-I-Ate-Here"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Another city, another food tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time we are doing a walking tour of the Prati district in Rome, an area known for lots of really good eating places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tour not only had more food than the previous one, but also included lots (and lots) of wines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1146-gladiatehere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1146\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our starting point was a small tasting room, Cafe La Nicchia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1147-gladiatehere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1147\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We started with lots of Prosecco and a appetizer plate which had on it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil D.O.P.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bruschetta with Pesto Verde Genovese D.O.P.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bruschetta with Pesto Rosso Genovese D.O.P.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P with Aceto Balsamico tradizionale di Reggio Emilia D.O.P.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tartina with Cream of Parmigiano<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reggiano and Truffle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tartina with Butter with Truffle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asiago cheese D.O.P. with Cream of Porcini and Truffle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provolone cheese D.O.P. with Honey of Truffle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1148-gladiatehere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1148\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our charming tour guide was filled with detail and history about everything we tasted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1149-gladiatehere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1149\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next stop: Bonci. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Bonci Pizzarium in Rome, founded in 2003 by Gabriele Bonci (&#8220;Michelangelo of Pizza&#8221;), is an iconic, award-winning, and renowned, destination for Roman-style&nbsp;pizza al taglio(pizza by the slice). Known for highly hydrated, fermented dough and creative, seasonal, high-quality toppings, it features a unique, crispy-yet-airy texture, with popular items including Carbonara suppl\u00ec and potato pizza.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel.monkeydads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/images-posts\/1150-gladiatehere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1150\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our four picks were Lemon Ricotta Prosciutto, Radicchio Potato Walnut Gorgonzola, Tomato and Mushroom and Parma Ham &amp; Cheese.
