First stop this morning was, of course, champahne. We stopped at J C LeRoux that makes sparkling wine in the French Champagne method.
Originally we were told that it was going to be a Champagne and Nougat tasting, but they discontinued that and all we got was Champagne.
We had dinner at wonderful people, friends of the parents, living in Strand. They have a great condo with an amazing view of False Bay.

We had lunch at the mall since we had to do some shopping afterwards. Keep on forgetting to take pictures in the mall, but I will. Promise!
The most fun and interesting farm stall next to the road to Stellenbosch.
The story goes that one of the workers started making scarecrows with fun human figures, and over time became more creative.
This of course brought the tourists and now, many years later, it is quite the attraction next to the road!

Today we went back to the horse farm we could not get in to yesterday. What an amazing place. Everything was meticulously designed.
Beautiful indigenous gardens leading up to the restaurant, art gallery and wine tasting.
Some of the best art in the country. And some of best wines we tasted in a while.

How can we not stop at Vrede en Lust?One of our favorite farms to sit and relax. The wines are great and the service is exemplary.
By this time of the day it was the perfect place to be since we were very ‘relaxed’ already.
Next door to the biltong restaurant was a chocolate manufacturer. Of course we had to go for a tasting!
It was so good! We ended up spending more in the chocloate place than we did for lunch for four, which included wine.

We stopped next door to Fairview at a place called Spice Road. There is a restaurant called Barley & Biltong that serves a biltong platter.
There is no way to describe how amazing biltong is. And to have a huge platter of it for lunch is just decadent.

It also has some of the nicest wines in the area. And the wine taste so much better here on the farm than what we get in the USA. And vastly cheaper too!
