It is Friday and we are off to the picturesque town of Franschhoek nestled in a valley.
Today we are going on a … wine tour!

Last on our list for the day was De Grendel. They not only had great wines, but a spectacular view of Table Mountain.
Hillcrest is not only known for its wines, but also olives.
We had lunch here on top of the hill overlooking the valley, and after lunch had an olive tasting.

It is Thursday and we are off to do some more wine tastings. This time we are going on the Durbanville Wine Route.

After lunch we went back to the town of Stellenbosch proper and went up the side if the mountain to a wine farm owned by the world famous golfer Ernie Els.
The views were breathtaking!
And the wines even better!

We had lunch at Middelvlei. A wonderful rustic wine farm. The fact that it was raining and there was a roaring fire place just added to the charm.
And then there were our new bestest friends, at least as long as we had food… Grappa and Merlot.

It was still a little early for lunch, so we took a little side tour to Clos Molverne.
Beautiful place with great wines.
While we were thee it started pouring rain so it was nice sitting next to the glass windows looking out over the vineyard in the rain.
