From the train station we took a Metro (subway) into the heart of the city.

I love it when you arrive in the dark, suddenly come up to the light and have an awesome reveal of the city.

Half a block from the central Metro station, on a very quiet street slightly off the main boulevard, is our new place.

Modern, stylish and big.

Love it.

We walked down the major boulevard and stopped at one of the ubiquitous Kiosk that are everywhere here for lunch.

It was a wonderful slow warm laid-back afternoon. We sat in the shade with sandwiches and wine(!) and watched people drift by. Just soaking in this city.

We made dinner at ‘home’ tonight.

A wonderful putanesca sauce with shrimp over pasta.

(No matter what Google Translate says!)

For dessert, dark chocolate port ganache we got at Graham’s.

It was so much fun to just go shopping and cook again.

On our way to our tourist bus, we walked up the park, past the National Book Fair to the top of the park to look down at the city and the Targus river.

Start of a great day!

Our bus tour gave us a great overview and idea of the layout of the city.

And with the audio part, we learned some stuff too!

We are just walking through town looking for a place to find lunch and saw the Santa Justa Lift.

This was built by the Eiffel Studio and is great to see, but we did not have the patience in the line (we even had free tickets)

And then we had a great tourist lunch watching people.

PS. This was only the second time ever I asked a chef in a restaurant for his recipe. Once in France in a Michelin starred restaurant, and this one.
